Mpowered Menopause Launches Webinar Series for Perimenopause Awareness Month

Four-part virtual series kicks of September 2 with Dr. Sophia Yen of Pandia Health, featuring leading voices in menopause care and research

NEW YORK, NY — August 11, 2026 — Mpowered Menopause, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to funding menopause research and closing the gap in women's health investment, today announced a four-part webinar series in recognition of Perimenopause Awareness Month this September. The virtual series will bring together physicians, researchers, and advocates for a series of live conversations addressing what perimenopause is, why the science still lags, and what women and their families can do about it.

The series opens on Wednesday, September 2 at 6:00 PM ET with “Perimenopause: Beyond the Buzz,” featuring Dr. Sophia Yen, MD, MPH, MSCP, CEO and Co-Founder of Pandia Health, in conversation with Mpowered Menopause and the Meno Midlife Collective. The session will separate fact from fiction on perimenopause, explore the latest science, and examine where research and care still fall short — especially for women of color. The event will be moderated by Debra Means-West, with a live Q&A to follow.

Perimenopause Awareness Month Webinar Series

All sessions are held virtually; registration details and remaining speaker topics will be announced as they are confirmed.

The series arrives amid growing recognition of a longstanding gap in women's health research. More than 1.3 million women enter menopause each year in the United States, with symptoms that can persist for four to seven years or longer. Menopause-related productivity losses cost U.S. businesses an estimated $26 billion annually, yet the condition remains chronically understudied and under-discussed.

“Perimenopause is finally part of the conversation — now it's time to deepen it,” said Lauren Jones, Co-Founder of Mpowered Menopause. “Too many women spend years symptomatic and unsupported simply because the research hasn't caught up to what they're experiencing. This series is about giving people real information from real experts, and showing them that a community is building around closing that gap for good.”

Mpowered Menopause's Advisory Council — a multidisciplinary body of physicians, researchers, and healthcare leaders — is helping shape the series and ensure it reflects current, evidence-based science. Council members include Sarah Berg, MD, FACOG, MSCP (Founder, Selfority); Rochelle Collins, DO, FAAFP (MDVIP / LivingWell Primary Care); Samantha Dunham, MD (NYU Langone Midlife Health & Menopause); Sherry Ladha, PharmD (Rigel Pharmaceuticals); and Julia Mandeville, PhD, MPH (public health researcher).

The webinar series also serves as a lead-up to Mpowered Menopause's signature fundraising event, the Millions 4 Menopause 5K, taking place Saturday, October 3, 2026 in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NY. The 5K aims to raise $50,000 toward the organization's $1 million research funding goal, with sponsor Pandia Health among the organizations expected to have a presence on race day.
